Granite City business continues to support Aberdeen Ladies FC
Aberdeen Ladies FC under-16s National Academy Performance (NAP) team will be sponsored by digital solutions company, MODS, for the 2023/24 season. MODS, headquartered in the Granite City, has been a long-term supporter of the grassroots club and the upcoming campaign will be its fifth consecutive sponsorship of playing strips and training kits for various teams.
Tim Bell, chief customer support officer at MODS, said: “We are extremely proud to be sponsoring the stars of tomorrow and playing a role in the development of girls’ and women’s football in the region.
“For the sport to continue its upward trajectory, investment in the grassroots game is essential. We hope that by sponsoring the team, we can have a positive impact on the next generation of women’s footballers coming through the ranks in the North-east. We wish the team all the best for the new season.”
The AFCL NAP under-16s side is part of the AFC Ladies development structure which feeds into SWPL 1 side Aberdeen FC Women’s first team, providing a clear pathway to the most senior level of women’s football at a national level. Players can enter the AFC Ladies system at under-7 level, with under-18 being the final step before the Aberdeen FC Women first team.
Martin Allan, the under-16s NAP head coach, said: “We would like to thank MODS for its continued support of the Aberdeen FC Women’s set-up. This type of financial support is invaluable and helps to ensure that maximum resources are devoted to the development of young players.”
Under the sponsorship deal, the MODS logo will be prominently displayed on the team’s new home kit, training kit and warm up tops.
